Hearty Welcome to His Beatitude at London Heathrow Airport

Meeting with the Papal Nuncio to UK

His Beatiude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church visited UK on a seven day apostolic visit from 04 – 10 July 2011. His Beatitude flew first to London where he was received at the London Heathrow Airport by Rev Fr Daniel Kulangara (Chaplain & Coordinator, Syro Malankara Catholic Church UK), Mr Rony Jacob (Secretary, Pastoral Council Syro Malankara Catholic Church UK), Mr Shiju Joseph Kochuthundiyil (Secretary St Joseph Malankara Catholic Mission, London), Mr Jaison Neriyattil (Trustee St Joseph Malankara Catholic Mission, London) and the members of the different missions.

On the visit His Beatitude visited the Papal Nuncio to UK at the Embassy of Holy See, visited The Archbishop of West minister diocese, the Archbishop of Canterbury at Lambeth Palace, met with the leaders of the Catholic diocesan bishops of England and Wales, met with the leaders of other Christian traditions, met with leaders and people of other faiths, Visited the Birmingham Oratory of the nineteenth century theologian and educationalist Blessed John Henry Newman, took part in the First Syro Malankara Catholic Convention held at Coventry.


	His Beatitude Greeted the school children at St Antonys Church, London His Beatiude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church celebrated the holy mass along with Msgr John Armitage, V G Brentwood Diocese at St Antonys of Padua RC Church. During the Holy Mass His Beatitude addressed more than 500 school children gathered from the different catholic schools in the Stratford deanery.
	Meeting with the Bishop of Brentwood Diocese His Beatiude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church visited the Bishop of Brentwood Diocese Rt Rev Thomas McMahon at the Brentwood Cathedral House. Later His Beatitude offered prayers at the Brentwood cathedral.


	Visit to the Shrine of Blessed Henry Newman Birmingham Oratory His Beatiude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church made a private visit to the Shrine of Blessed Henry Newman Birmingham Oratory. During the visit His Beatitude celebrated Holy mass in Syro Malankara rite at the Oratory. At the end of the Mass, His Beatitude spent time visiting the Oratory Museum.

	His Beatiude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church visited the Papal Nuncio to UK Most Reverend Archbishop Antonio Mennini at the Embassy of Holy See in Wimbledon.
	Meeting with the ArchBishop of Canterbury His Beatiude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church met with the Archbishop of Canterbury Most Reverend Dr Rowan Williams at Lambeth palace. Meeting with the ArchBishop of Westminister Archdiocese His Beatiude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church visited the Archbishop of Westminster Diocese Most reverend Dr Vincent Nichols at the Archbishop House in Ambrosden Avenue. Meeting with the Auxiliary Bishop of Westminister Archdiocese His Beatiude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church visited the Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster Diocese Rt Rev Alan Hopes, The Coordinator for the Ethnic Chaplaincies, London. ----
